Position Overview:
As our Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary direction of our cafe. You'll have the creative freedom to design seasonal menus while also ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes. Leading a small but dedicated kitchen team, you'll inspire excellence and foster a collaborative work environment where everyone can thrive.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing and updating seasonal menus that reflect the cafe's commitment to quality and freshness
 
  • Overseeing all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation

  • Managing inventory and ordering supplies to maintain optimal stock levels while minimising waste

  • Training and mentoring kitchen staff to ensure consistency and adherence to food safety standards

  • Collaborating with management to develop and implement cost-effective strategies for menu pricing and profitability

  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role, preferably in a busy cafe or restaurant setting

  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative, flavorful dishes

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for kitchen management

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
